How to determine your skin type

How to determine your skin type

It will be no surprise to those who know me that my first post will be concerning skincare, as I am extremely obsessed with anything to do with skin! One thing I cannot stand are spots! I have been known not to leave my house, if a pimple decides to grace my face... ( a tad bit vain I know, but we all have our issues)

Recently, I have discovered that a lot of young women do nothing to maintain their skin. Some of us think its enough to simply use a make up wipe just before they go to bed and call it a day! So I thought i would shed light on how to determine your skin type and then suggest what type of products to introduce into your skin care routine.

Tip : To indentify your skin type, try this test:
-Take of make up and allow your face to dry for about an 1 hour
-Place a single layer of white tissue (peel apart a tissue and it will give you two three thin layers-Andrex does the job) over you face and press it over the surface, pushing it into the cornders and all the creases
-Leave it for a few minutes and then lift off.

Skin Type
-Oily skin: the tissue will stick to sebum (oil), pick up oily spots and become translucent.

-Normal/combination skin: it will stick only to your T-zone (across the forehead and down to the nose-draws out the letter T)
-Dry/very Dry skin: the paper won't stick to any area of your face as there's little sebumTadaa!

Now you know your skin type, if you have been unsuccesful and still confused just book a free skin consultation at SK:N Clinic, highly recommended and they have some amazing products! (review on a later date) (http://www.sknclinics.co.uk/free-consultation)

P.S- I am an oily girl!
